As against the earlier prediction that Tata Motors will launch Tata Zica on January 20, it is learnt that this car will probably be launched sometime in mid-February. The company said that the car’s bookings might commence during the 2016 Indian Auto Expo, which will be held from 5th to 9th of February 2016.
Zica is entirely different from the existing Tata cars
The first think you will note in Tata Zica is that it is entirely different from the existing Tata cars, both look-wide and comfort-wise and deserves a fresh identity which proves that Tata’s design team has done a reasonably decent job with the Zica.
The Tata Zica has been designed keeping the younger costumers in mind with the impressive front end and the way it protrudes outwards in this slight elliptical shape to provide this visual impression that the hood is longer than it actually is. The front grille of Tata Zica has a piano black mirror finish which gives it a very premium feel.
Zica provides enough space inside
With a 2,400mm wheelbase, the wheels are pushed to the most extreme ends of the Zica to provide enough space inside so that four average sized adults can sit without any difficulty as it has lot of leg room and enough head room as well. The materials used inside the car are also of appreciable quality.
Tata has provided a 242-litre boot which is big enough for a long weekend outing with family.
The shapes on the dashboard is attractive, especially the centre console, which once again bring out the hexagonal effect. To make gear shift easy, the information display on the screen in the instrument cluster features a gear indicator that flashes the gear you’re driving in.
Powerful engine makes driving a real pleasure
Tata Motor has provided new engines powering for this car. Both the 1,047cc turbocharged diesel and the 1,199cc Revotron petrol engines are three-cylinder engines that use a DOHC four-valve per cylinder valvetrain and variable valve intake cam timing. The petrol makes 85Ps of max power with 114Nm of max torque. The diesel produces 70Ps of max power with a 140Nm of max torque.
Tata Zica returns decent mileage making if fuel efficient
The diesel in Tata Zica Mileage of around 25kmpl, while, the petrol gives around 18-20 kilometers to a liter of fuel.
Superb suspension provides impressive riding quality
The suspension is tuned keeping in mind comfort with impressive riding quality sufficiently damps out any surface roughness.
Safety is also high on the cards. Tata Motors have also provided the top end Tata Zica variant we drove with airbags for both driver and co-driver.
